CLUB FITTING

We are an autorised Ping Fitting Centre, Our golf professional Andrew Smith uses the latest SKYTRAK launch monitor technology to help determine the best specification for your golf clubs. A custom fit session will usually take between 30 minutes and an hour and is provided FREE when you purchase the clubs from us*.

We also provide a full regripping service to bring life back into your currant set of clubs. A huge selection of grips are available to choose from in the shop.

A good swing combined with properly fitted equipment, will help you hit the most solid, accurate shots possible.

Unlike static fitting systems, the Custom Fitting system we use takes the dynamic of your swing and ball flight into consideration. Since each golfer possesses a unique combination of swing variables, having your irons custom fitted to your characteristics is an important step in reaching your game potential and enjoying the game at its highest level..

The main advantage that we have over custom fitting in golf shops is that our golf professional can see the flight of the ball. This is paramount in selecting the right specifications for your clubs.

PLAYING WITH CLUBS THAT ARE THE RIGHT LENGTH CAN GIVE YOU THE CONSISTENCY YOUR SHOTS HAVE BEEN MISSING

The length of your clubs plays the most important part in overall distance and flight trajectory. The combination of your skill level, club head speed, swing characteristics and posture are taken into consideration during your fitting and will help ensure that your clubs are the right length.

With proper length clubs, you have greater chance of improved ball striking and on-centre hits. And that means more distance, better accuracy and the ideal trajectory.

  •     If you make contact on the toe of the club, your irons may be too short.
  •     If you make contact on the heel of the club, your irons may be too long.
  •     A scattered pattern across the face could also mean your irons are too long.

WHAT'S IN A LIE ANGLE?

Ball flight and direction is greatly affected by lie angle. And greater accuracy relies upon proper ball flight. Playing with the correct lie angle will improve your control and flight consistency.

  •     If your ball flies left of the target, the lie angle may be too upright.
  •     If your ball flies right of the target, the lie angle may be too flat.
  •     A correct lie angle allows the ball to fly on line towards your target.

Lie angle is the angle between the shaft and the ground line, when the club head is soled in a position where it touches the ground directly at the centre line of the club face.

THE RIGHT SHAFT IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR SWING

Each golfer has an ideal shaft, flex and flex point combination that is best suited for his or her swing. A properly fitted shaft will result in the desired ball trajectory and longer distance. The right shaft also gives the player the ability to shape shots. The shaft and flex combination that best fits the players swing depends on club head speed and the transition from back swing to downswing.

After being fitted for the correct shaft, your club head will respond in sync with your swing, giving you more distance.

SHAFT FLEX TOO STIFF/TOO HEAVY

    Lower than ideal trajectory

Lack of solid feel and contact

    Loss of distance

SHAFT FLEX TOO FLEXIBLE/TOO LIGHT

    Higher than ideal ball trajectory

    Poor directional control

    Whippy feeling

CHOOSING YOUR GRIP

Grips are the only contact you make with your club. Feel, distance and control directly relate to this relationship. Ideal grip size will allow the proper release of golf club and less tension on the player's hands and forearms. Grip size and style should not only be comfortable, but also result in more control. The key to finding a comfortable grip is to look for a light touching of the fingertip to the thumb pad when gripping the club.

  •     If the standard grip is correct, the middle two fingertips will barely touch the heel position of the hand.
  •     If the fingertips are separated from the heel portion of the hand, the grips are too large.
  •     If the fingertips are digging into the heel of the palm, the grips are too small.
